01 — Our Vision
Empowering communities to protect our natural heritage.
NRDI was founded to bridge the gap between institutional governance and grassroots action. Based in Fort Portal City, we serve the Albertine Region by implementing community-led IWRM, WASH, and livelihood improvement projects. We believe that sustainable conservation is only possible when local communities are motivated to protect and utilize their resources responsibly.
We reject top-down mandates. Instead, we partner with local governments and regional water management zones to build capacity. From sustainable forestry to best agronomic practices, our work is grounded in the reality of the landscape and the needs of the people who call the Albertine Region home.

Our governance is structured for impact. Led by an Executive Director with 15 years of experience and a dedicated Board of Directors, we ensure every project delivers measurable results. We are proud to work alongside partners like GIZ, the European Union, and the Ministry of Water and Environment to secure a greener future for Western Uganda.
